If you want history with dinner, Tavern at the Armory sits inside the Inn at Middletown at 70 Main Street, in a restored 1800s armory. New England plates, clam chowder, a good lobster roll, braised short ribs, and they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, which makes it the reliable catch-all when half your group can't agree.
